It’s the most magical time of the year! I am all about the cliche aesthetics of the autumn/winter season. I look cute in bobble hats, I love being warm, I enjoy fireworks and the smell of bonfires and buying presents – I am just all about it.
So when LOTD.com asked if I wanted to check out some of their clothes, I knew exactly which looks I was going for – I wanted a cute, snuggly outfit for those bracing Sunday walks through the woods that Steven & I never go on, and a Christmas party outfit that was something a little different than I would normally go for. This post is all about my cute daytime look, and in a few weeks when I’ve premiered the dress at a Christmas party, there will be a post about that too, so watch this space!
Let’s start at the bottom – these freaking boots! I would live and die in boots, especially ankle boots like these. I was looking for a pair for ages over the past few weeks and these ticked all my boxes. They are casual enough to wear with jeans, but also nice enough to rock with a dress and thick tights. I also love the colour and although I usually go for brown boots I thought I would step out of my comfort zone. I love the fake gold zip detail on the outside and they are super comfy, which is good because I haven’t taken them off! (Am tempted to buy them in the gorgeous Mocha colour too!)
Pan up to a simple black skinny jean. I have fallen back in love with black jeans after not having worn them since I was a fourteen year old wanna be scene kid. As someone who lives in leggings or dresses, I am excited to be rocking a jean again!
This jumper is my life. I love mustard on other people but I always stay safe with things like burnt orange and burgundy as I know those colours work for me, however I decided to go for it and I’m so glad I did. It has a ribbed finish and and distressed detail on the side which I love and it is so comfy! It’s oversized which I love too as it hides my post mincepie(s!) tummy!
When it comes to jewellery, I either go for something dainty and understated, or ridiculous and novelty, so I figured it was time to get something in between. This necklace is beautiful (although it’s a bugger to untangle!) and I got some lovely comments on it. It really helped me feel more dressed up in the jumper. A stone out of the top part of the necklace did fall out at one point which is a shame but it was such a good price (4 bloody quid!) and it still looks good without it.
I usually opt for dangly earrings and quite often I will wear a non-matching pair, so these were out of my comfort zone but I loved them. They are fairly heavy but still very comfortable and they looked lovely. I felt tres sophisticated!
I love this outfit – I wore it to a late bonfire night party, and an actual real-life walk in the woods with Steven (maybe this will spark a love for Sunday afternoon walks?!) and even a meeting, so it’s a versatile look. The prices were so good – I got all of this, plus the dress I will be showing off next for around £60!
Shout out to LOTD for hooking me up – I’ve found a new favourite clothing site!
