The kids may have only been at school for a few days, but I’ve already got itchy feet and am looking for our next family trip. Now that Jet2 are planning to start flying from Liverpool next year, our choices have opened up even more and I’m dreaming of sitting by a pool with my Kindle and a drink in hand. Of course, the reality of a holiday with a toddler and a 4-year-old is very different, but still – I would rather do sleepless nights in Rhodes or Madeira than Southport!
Jet2 are now flying to 20 destinations across Europe from Liverpool John Lennon Airport which is great news for us as it’s the closest airport to us and will make getting some winter sun (hint hint) much easier. Now that we are limited to school holidays for heading abroad (boo!), time is super precious so the less time we have to spend travelling to and from the airport, the more time for adventure and making memories, which is what I am all about.
One of the exclusive destinations is Menorca which is a family favourite. Steven and I headed to this beautiful island when I was only a few weeks pregnant with Ruben, and we’ve since been back with the whole family (two extra babies and the in-laws and all!) so we know that that’s a good option. It was a gorgeous mix of sun and sand for the kids to play, but also plenty of places to explore for those of us who want to.
Jet2 kindly sent me some information about Gran Canaria – somewhere I’ve never considered before – but after checking out the guidebook, I am very tempted! The beaches are stunning, the water crystal clear, and the mountains are volcanic – very very cool.
However, my first ever abroad holiday was to Zante in Greece with my best friend when I was about 7 years old. It’s been a dream of ours to go back with our little families one year and I love that this is even easier now that we can fly from Liverpool. It’s such a beautiful part of the world, with the friendliest locals and so much to see and do. In fact, I might start pricing it up right now…
